Dave Lefevre and Shawn Macpherson started The Checker in 2000 with the mission of helping businesses and other organizations conduct audits and inspections more effectively and efficiently.
The roots of The Checker go back to 1989, when Dave and Shawn founded Devtra, Inc. to provide training and consulting across a range of industries, with a focus on helping clients improve operations, material handling, maintenance, safety, and compliance.
It became clear that audits and inspections were not being adequately performed in most organizations. Audits and inspections were either not done at all or done haphazardly and inefficiently.
So Dave and Shawn created The Checker inspection checklist books, which have been used by enterprises of all sizes and types to conduct more than 20 million audits and inspections throughout North America. These books help organizations establish audit/inspection processes that are consistent, organized, and effective.
Dave and Shawns efforts have culminated in The Checker Software, a powerful tool that enables organizations to develop a comprehensive, systematic audit/inspection program. Offered as SaaS, The Checker Software can be used to audit or inspect virtually anything, so it can be used to meet the needs of organizations of any type, in any industry.
